Instructions

Review the following information about complete sentences, fragments, and run-ons. Then, download the Word document and use the Draw feature to write and label each box as a run-on, fragment, or complete sentence. Write R for run-ons, CS for complete sentences, and F for fragments. You may use whichever colors you like (FULL STEPS ON HOW TO COMPLETE THIS PROCESS BELOW). 

Complete sentences include a subject, predicate, and they make a complete thought:

Example: Juan went to the beach last Thursday. 

Fragments are groups of words that do not express a complete thought. They may also be lacking a subject or a verb:

Run-ons occur when two or more sentences are combined incorrectly and without proper punctuation:

Example: Hamburgers are my favorite food they are so delicious.

Now, follow the steps below to download, complete, and upload the Word document above:

1. Click and download the Word document. 

2. Save it on your computer to your 'ELAR 20-21' folder.

3. Use the Draw feature on Word to label each of the boxes as a complete sentence, fragment, or run-on. Mark complete sentences as 'CS', run-ons as 'R', and fragments as 'F'. You may use whichever colors you choose to label the boxes.

4. Make sure the document is saved to your folder. Then, go to question 1 on this quiz. 

5. Click "File Upload". Upload the document.

6. Click "Submit".
